How he finally put a ring on it

The weekend that changed my life!

Since returning from our wedding in Ireland in July, I've been reflecting on how Conor and I finally got to the alter to say WE DO!

As many of you know, Conor and I have been together for 7.5 years. It’s been a beautiful journey filled with love, growth, and creating an amazing blended family. But like any relationship, we’ve had our share of challenges. Conor has been through a lot in his past—experiences which made him hesitant to consider marriage and the possibility of having more children. Despite this, I held onto hope, trusting that one day we would find a way to navigate through these challenges and fully embrace our future together.

Last year on our sixth-year anniversary on the Gold Coast that moment came during what I can only describe as one of the most life-changing, epic weekends of my life. Conor and I attended “The Bridge Experience and Extreme Leadership” retreat— two weekends designed to push boundaries, challenge fears, and open our hearts in ways we hadn’t imagined. It was an intense experience, one that left us both feeling raw, vulnerable, and yet incredibly connected.

On the last day of the retreat, something truly extraordinary happened and I definitely wasn't expecting it in the midst of this emotionally charged environment. We had reached a point where neither of us could hide behind our fears anymore. The walls we had built around our hearts began to crumble, and in that moment of complete openness, Conor proposed to me in front of 70 people. It was a proposal that didn’t just symbolise our love, but also our willingness to evolve into higher versions of ourselves, together. And not only did he propose he was also open and excited to have more children.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s brought us to a place where we can fully embrace each other and the future we want to build. The love and commitment we share now feels stronger and more profound than ever before.

I wanted to share this with you because “The Bridge Experience and Extreme Leadership" weekends changed our life and everyone who attended for the better. It opened everyone up to expand and call in the life we truly desired without letting beliefs, stories or anything else get in the way. The bonds, friendships, and community that were forged over those two weekends created life long connections. Connections that continue to this day and witnessed not only our engagement, but also our wedding.

So saying "yes" to Conor wasn't just about accepting a proposal; it was about embracing the highest version of ourselves and our relationship. It was a commitment to continue evolving together, to face the future with courage, and to love each other without reservations. That weekend wasn’t just about taking a step forward in our relationship; it was about breaking open our hearts so that we could grow into the people we are meant to be. It reminded me that love is not about perfection but about persistence, and that sometimes, the greatest transformations come from the moments when we allow ourselves to be fully seen. I’m filled with gratitude for that experience and for the journey that Conor and I are now embarking on together. I wanted to share this with you because it’s a testament to the power of love, perseverance, and the willingness to evolve. If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that the best is yet to come, and I’m so excited for what the future holds.

I want to remind you that no matter what you desire love, an epic relationship, a career you're passionate about, a life that lights you up…when you commit and choose to invest in yourself, you can truly conquer all. It’s a journey of growth, healing, and, ultimately, of coming home to yourself.

With love and gratitude,

Brooke
